IT Manager – Discovery Land Company, Maverick Golf and Ranch Club, Fort Worth, TX
The IT Manager will oversee the implementation and maintenance of advanced technology systems that enhance the living experience for our members. This position ensures seamless connectivity and security through robust network infrastructure, including surveillance systems, high-speed internet, and automation tools. The role also coordinates with developers to integrate hardware and software solutions, troubleshoots technical issues, provides tech support, and ensures technology aligns with the DLC brand standards.
Key Responsibilities- Assist company staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, server systems and related technology.
- Maintain high-level understanding of server operations and operating systems including virtual servers, clustering, backup systems, and policies surrounding maintenance and standards for systems.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and naming convention standards.
- Familiarity with Office 365, Azure, Entra, group policy management.
- Knowledge of networking including switches, routers, firewalls, APs, VLANs and routing;
Cisco or Meraki experience a plus. - Maintain daily operations of networks and server infrastructure, including preventative maintenance.
- IT related project implementation, methodologies, and familiarity with change management.
- Policy creation, documentation of network backbones including OSI model knowledge.
- Align IT infrastructure with current and future business requirements and goals.
- Assess and purchase new and replacement hardware.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting and project planning as well as KPI and performance tuning.
- Assure that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes and regulations.
- Test, troubleshoot, and adjust information systems to operate effectively.
- Assist in the development of connectivity and capability for IT installations that support Development / Construction, Security, Sales, Accounting, Human Resources and Operations.
- Troubleshoot phone systems, POS terminals and subnetworks.
- Diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems involving application software and operating systems.
- Partner with Discovery Land IT and take on progressive responsibilities related to the IT infrastructure.
- Provide hardware/software support to both local and remote users and be available to troubleshoot via phone as needed.
- Assist staff with installation, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop and server platforms, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.
- Collaborate with Discovery Land Company contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop, server and networking systems including hardware and software.
- Train and orient staff on the use of computers, phones, POS and other software.
- Oversee and track successful fulfillment of all orders.
- Maintain timely communication of progress and status regarding each of the projects.
- IT-related college degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years related experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Excellent presentation and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Problem solver with ability to navigate complex problems.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
- Ability to work flexible hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required due to business demands.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest times.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, moving for periods >8 hours, and lifting/carrying items sometimes >50 pounds.
