Services Technician Sr

About the role

Services Technician Sr. You will perform installation, modification, repair, testing and/or servicing on systems and communications equipment, including, but not limited to, hardware and peripherals; software configuration; voice, video and data cabling systems; and networks. You will service both internal Insight teammates and clients on site.

• Perform necessary hardware and peripheral repairs, identifying problems and determining the most efficient and cost‑effective way to resolve them while keeping customer downtime to a minimum.
• Install and test system hardware at customer sites, setting up hardware, testing performance, identifying problems, and following any special instructions.
• Complete all required documentation involved in a service call to ensure accurate billing and timely return of defective products/parts according to warranty or contract, including vendor paperwork.
• Identify system hardware problems and determine the most efficient and cost‑effective way of resolving them.

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four‑year college or university or 3‑4 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with LANs, WANs, personal computers, messaging and server software applications.
• Experience with cable plants, network services, email, bulletin boards, and CD‑ROM libraries.
• Ability to automate tasks using basic scripting techniques.

• Freedom to work from another location—including an international destination—for up to 30 consecutive calendar days per year.
