Snowflake Data Architect with Actuarial Insurance Experience

Remote (must be US-based)

Overview

We are seeking a Snowflake Data Architect who combines deep hands on platform expertise with strong business analysis skills. Experience working with actuarial data and insurance domains is required.

What you will do
  • Source analysis and documentation:
    Evaluate new datasets, profiling structure, content, lineage, and relationships. Produce clear documentation for technical and business audiences.
  • Requirements to specifications:
    Partner with stakeholders to elicit and refine data needs, then translate them into detailed technical specs and user stories for engineering teams.
  • Transformations in Snowflake:
    Design and build scalable transformation logic for pre ingested data, leveraging Snowflake native features to deliver clean, reliable, and performant datasets.
  • Platform excellence:
    Apply Snowflake best practices across performance, cost management, security, and governance.
  • Cross functional liaison:
    Bridge business and engineering, communicating insights, trade offs, and status to keep all parties aligned.
  • Enablement and mentoring:
    Coach junior colleagues on Snowflake usage patterns, modeling standards, and analytical methods.
What you will bring
  • Domain background:
    Hands on experience with actuarial data and insurance use cases, such as pricing, reserving, risk, or policy analytics.
  • Snowflake depth:
    Minimum three years delivering Snowflake based projects, with a strong command of its architecture, features, and data modeling approaches.
  • Advanced SQL:
    Expert level SQL, including complex query patterns, stored procedures, tasks, dynamic tables, materialized views, and performance tuning.
  • Business analysis:
    Proven track record gathering requirements, producing functional specifications, and collaborating with business partners.
  • Scripting:
    Proficiency in Python for automation, orchestration, or data manipulation.
