Innovate! Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its geospatial solutions team as a GIS Developer . You may be called upon to assist with the design, development, and maintenance of geospatial applications through the concept, design, and implementation phases. Your role will also include supporting other personnel in utilizing GIS applications and software as well as interfacing with clients and teaming partners.

Salary Range: $75000-$105000 annually

• Design, develop, and maintain custom GIS applications using Esri ArcGIS APIs, Python, and JavaScript frameworks.
• Develop and maintain automated geospatial data workflows using Python (Arc Py, Pandas, etc.) and FME.
• Create and manage spatial databases (e.g., PostGIS, SQL Server, or Oracle Spatial).
• Integrate GIS applications with external systems via RESTful APIs, web services, or ETL tools.
• Perform advanced spatial analysis and geoprocessing to support decision-making.
• Develop interactive web maps and dashboards using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Web App Builder, Experience Builder, and Esri JavaScript API (3.x and 4.x) frameworks.
• Collaborate with GIS analysts, data scientists, and project managers to translate user requirements into scalable solutions.
• Support the migration of legacy GIS systems to cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Document code, workflows, and standard operating procedures for long-term maintainability.
• Ensure application security, performance, and compliance with data governance policies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• 3–6 years of hands-on GIS development experience, with a strong focus on Esri technologies.
• Proficiency with Python, especially for geoprocessing with Arc Py or automation scripts.
• Experience with web development frameworks such as JavaScript, HTML/CSS, React, or Angular.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online configuration and customization.
• Experience with geospatial database design and SQL query optimization.
• Understanding of REST API integration and web service development.
• Experience deploying GIS solutions in cloud environments (AWS/Azure) is preferred.
