Vanguard’s IT Data & Analytics team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and scale reliable data pipelines and reusable datasets that power IT reporting, dashboards, analytics products, and AI-ready data. In this role, you will partner with engineers, analysts, and technology stakeholders to ingest, transform, validate, and publish high‑value data while improving usability and reducing manual effort. You will contribute to modern data engineering practices and help elevate data quality, governance, and accessibility across the organization.
This is a Hybrid Role (in office Tue–Wed–Thu) based in Charlotte, NC, Dallas, TX, Scottsdale, AZ, or Malvern, PA (HQ).
- Own the vision, roadmap, and lifecycle of data products (e.g., curated datasets, KPI/metric layers, executive insights, data quality products).
- Partner with IT leaders, analytics teams, and data engineers to translate business needs into clear product requirements and prioritized backlogs.
- Drive standardization of key metrics and definitions to enable consistent, decision‑ready insights across IT.
- Ensure data products meet enterprise standards for quality, security, governance, and auditability.
- Lead cross‑functional delivery from discovery through production, including release planning and ongoing optimization.
- Measure and drive adoption, usage, and value realization of data products.
- Communicate product strategy, progress, and insights to IT executive stakeholders and senior management.
- Continuously improve data product ways of working, leveraging agile and product management best practices.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in technical product management, with at least 2 years leading large cross‑functional teams. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field required; graduate degree preferred.
- Experience with product lifecycle management, market analysis, product design, user experience evaluation, technical documentation, and cross‑functional stakeholder collaboration. Technical knowledge in software development processes, APIs, cloud platforms, or data‑driven product environments is important.
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and project execution skills.
- Preferred certifications include CSPO, Pragmatic Institute Product Management Certifications, or SAFe POPM. Ability to balance technical feasibility with business viability and user desirability is essential.
