Lantern is looking for a Sr.Network Security Engineer to join our fast-growing team. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure of our customers and internal infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of network systems, as well as providing technical leadership to the network engineering team. This role requires deep expertise in IT platforms and networking technologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Location:
Hybrid - at least 3 days/wk in our Dallas office located at 2100 Ross Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75201
- Design, implement, maintain and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Architect and deploy network security solutions across on-prem and cloud environments (Azure + hybrid).
- Configure and manage Fortinet technologies:
Forti Gate firewalls, Forti Manager, Forti Analyzer, Forti Client EMS, and SD-WAN - Firewall & VPN Management
- Maintain firewall rule sets, NAT policies, IPS/IDS, and VPN configurations (IPSec/SSL).
- Optimize performance and security posture through audits and hardening.
- Azure Security Engineering
- Implement Azure network security controls: NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateways, Conditional Access, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
- Ensure compliance with Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark and regulatory frameworks
- Monitor network traffic and security, implement appropriate security measures, and respond to security incidents.
- Administer servers, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of operating systems and applications.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network and systems components.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continuously improve network and system infrastructure.
- Understand data schema/API standards, automation, and messaging systems
- Bring a metric-driven mindset to our rules, signals (IOCs), and alerts
- Other duties as assigned, we are one family and help each other.
- 7+ years in network/security engineering
- 5+ years with Fortinet solutions and Azure networking/security
- Experience with an NDR solution (Extrahop, Darktrace)
- Experience managing cloud security servic
