Senior Consultant, Tax Technology
The Senior Consultant, Tax Technology partners with primarily internal stakeholders, with some external client support, to identify business challenges, analyze tax processes and systems, and design and implement scalable solutions that drive operational efficiency and client value. This role performs requirements analysis, process design, data evaluation, ETL and data transformation, solution configuration, testing, and documentation to support business and technology initiatives.
Responsibilities- People: Create a positive team experience through collaboration, accountability, and professional conduct. Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior team members on business analysis, data analysis, solution documentation, testing, and tax technology delivery practices. Review work products for accuracy, completeness, data integrity, and overall quality. Support cross‑functional collaboration across internal teams, global counterparts, technology teams, tax subject matter experts, and client‑facing delivery teams.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and practical adoption of tax technology tools and solutions. - Client: Interface directly with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs, operational challenges, and system requirements. Translate business requirements into functional specifications and solution designs. Provide proactive status updates and maintain effective communication throughout project life cycles. Assist with data gathering, extraction, reconciliation, and analysis. Develop and deliver high‑quality client documentation, reports, and presentations. Support resolution of client inquiries, technical questions, and service‑related matters.
- Value: Analyze existing business and system processes to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities. Develop and document scalable business process and solution designs aligned to client objectives. Create, configure, implement, test, and support business and technology solutions based on defined requirements. Build, execute, and document test scenarios to ensure solution quality and performance. Assist in development of project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
Identify risks and elevate issues appropriately to support timely resolution. Contribute to operational excellence by delivering accurate, timely, and high‑quality results.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Technology, Data Analytics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in consulting, business analysis, tax technology, technology implementation, data analysis, ETL, process improvement, or related professional services environment.
- Experience working in or supporting tax, finance, accounting, enterprise technology, or client solutions environments preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business processes, tax processes, data structures, and system requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.
- Experience supporting project delivery, including requirements gathering, documentation, data analysis, testing, stakeholder coordination, and implementation support.
- Experience with low‑code/no‑code tools, ETL processes, automation, data visualization, and reporting preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Process, project management, tax technology, data, or analytics certifications such as Six Sigma, PMP, Alteryx, Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, or related certifications are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced Excel skills including data analysis, formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Experience with ETL, data transformation, and low‑code/no‑code automation tools such as Alteryx (required or strongly preferred).
