School Counselor

Location: Trinity Basin Preparatory, Inc South Campus - Fort Worth, Texas

Starting date: Immediately

Salary: $64,000 per year

Position Type: Full Time

This position is for the 26-27 School Year. The primary function of the Counselor is to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive program of guidance for the school, including counseling services. The Counselor will create a proactive developmental guidance program to encourage all students to maximize personal growth and development.

• Provides consultation to administrators, teachers, staff, students, and parents regarding academic, personal, and social needs of students.
• Collaborates with campus RTL and SST teams to facilitate interventions or strategies to remove barriers to students’ academic success.
• Oversees the implementation of campus-level character and behavior education and intervention programs.
• Collaborates with teachers to incorporate guidance‑related information into the existing curriculum.
• Plans and implements school guidance and counseling programs to meet identified needs.
• Teaches school development guidance curriculum to students.
• Provides individual and/or group counseling for students in need.
• Uses an effective referral process to refer students who need special programs or services.
• Maintains student data records and communicates data to stakeholders as needed.
• Assists teachers and students with behavior management plans and transition planning to middle and high school.
• Maintains positive relationships with administration, staff, students, and parents.
• Complies with federal, state, and district policies.

• Minimum a bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Valid Texas Counseling certificate (or equivalent) required.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and write reports and correspondence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Experience in instruction, behavior management, and confidential data handling.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain confidential information.

• Prior classroom teaching experience.
• Experience with school guidance and counseling programs.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience (preferred).
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
