Trinity Rail is hiring a Materials Planning & Scheduling Administrator for the Parts & Components Plant in Fort Worth.
This role supports integrated supply chain processes by coordinating material flow, aligning with suppliers, and maintaining inventory accuracy across distribution centers. The Materials Planning & Scheduling Administrator is responsible for ensuring material availability to support customer orders and production requirements. This role coordinates purchasing, suppliers, and internal functions to maintain accurate material status, minimize shortages, and support on‑time delivery performance. The position operates in a fast‑paced distribution environment, requiring strong coordination, data accuracy, and proactive problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities Material Planning & Scheduling- Maintain accurate availability status of materials required for customer shipments and production.
- Monitor open shortages, update priorities, and track ETAs to minimize service disruptions.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal production teams to support on‑time delivery performance.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor material flow from suppliers to distribution centers and end customer.
- Expedite critical shortages and ensure timely resolution of material constraints.
- Meet regularly with suppliers to review, prioritize, and manage open purchase orders.
- Track supplier performance, delivery commitments, and material availability risks.
- Coordinate vendors drop shipment activities from order placement through shipment completion.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of purchase order receipts and customer order transactions.
- Ensure material availability at regional distribution centers to support customer demand.
- Coordinate the movement of expedited material through receiving, warehousing, and shipping functions.
- Load and manage customer orders for internal stock replenishment and validate inventory accuracy post‑shipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory balances and support continuous improvement in inventory control processes.
- Perform inventory reconciliation and reporting for consignment stock.
- Manage consignor relationships and support sales order processing.
- Support financial reporting activities, including monthly and quarterly consignment settlements.
- Ensure compliance with LSL and internal controls.
- Track and reconcile reconditioning cores and associated inventory activity.
- Coordinate kit assembly activities and ensure material readiness.
- Maintain and update Bills of Material (BOM) for kitting processes.
- Monitor kitting inventory levels and support replenishment planning.
- Administer kitting checklists and ensure documentation accuracy for order fulfillment.
- High school diploma required; associate degree or higher preferred
- 2+ years of supply chain, logistics, or materials coordination experience
- Experience working in ERP/MRP systems in a planning or transactional environment
Proficiency in Outlook, MS Office applications, especially Excel
- Ability to work across the various functions of the organization and with external suppliers
