Operations Team Lead - Extended

The Operations Manager has direct oversight and influence over all logistics activity within a defined geographic market. You are accountable for establishing priorities and providing leadership to the people who coordinate daily freight movements. You produce ongoing analysis of trailer pools, outbound demand, on‑time performance, priority of freight, billing, and other details to balance multiple needs.

• Build a positive atmosphere by challenging others to achieve optimal business results.
• Monitor balance, capacity, and demand of loads and trucks.
• Manage customer orders and monitor outbound freight volume relative to customer‑awarded commitments.
• Question inconsistencies as they arise.
• Develop contingency plans to cover critical situations.
• Assist with generating new capacity through rate negotiations for unplanned new lanes and volume.
• Provide regular and ad‑hoc reporting (P&L, revenue share, load counts, etc.).

• Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrated knowledge of applicable federal/state regulations and DOT regulations; proficiency in Microsoft Excel reporting functions.
• Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with transportation of temperature‑controlled product; high organization and communication skills; ability to perform in a demanding, deadline‑driven environment; some knowledge of the AS/400 operating system; ability to handle high volumes of inbound communications.

5+ years of management experience within or directly related to the transportation industry.
