Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking a detail-oriented Jewelry & Precious Metals Specialist for an onsite opportunity in Fort Worth, TX. This position is responsible for processing, evaluating, verifying, and maintaining accurate inventory records for jewelry, diamonds, and precious metals received from multiple locations.

The Jewelry & Precious Metals Specialist will inspect valuable merchandise, verify diamond authenticity and precious metal content, record weights, reconcile inventory discrepancies, and ensure items are accurately tracked through internal systems.

This opportunity is well suited for candidates with experience as a Pawnbroker, Jewelry Specialist, Diamond Evaluator, Precious Metals Specialist, Jewelry Appraiser, or Inventory Specialist who are interested in a structured, production-focused corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities Jewelry & Precious Metals Processing
  • Receive and process jewelry, diamonds, and precious metals from multiple locations.
  • Inspect merchandise for accuracy, condition, and appropriate documentation.
  • Verify diamond authenticity using established evaluation methods and equipment.
  • Identify and verify precious metal content, including gold and other valuable metals.
  • Weigh precious metals and accurately record weights within applicable systems and documentation.
  • Sort, organize, and prepare jewelry and precious metal merchandise according to established procedures.
  • Process and track items throughout the merchandise lifecycle using internal systems.
  • Follow established procedures for handling and securing high-value merchandise.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for jewelry, diamonds, and precious metals.
  • Compare received merchandise against inventory records and supporting documentation.
  • Identify missing, additional, or incorrectly documented pieces.
  • Research and reconcile inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly accounted for throughout the processing workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records to support inventory control, auditing, and operational requirements.
Documentation & Administrative Support
  • Enter and update merchandise information within company systems.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical documentation related to jewelry and precious metal processing.
  • Record weights, quantities, merchandise details, and other required information.
  • File, organize, and retrieve documentation as needed.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and internal systems to support daily processing activities.
  • Assist with reports, inventory documentation, and other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Quality, Security & Organization
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work area.
  • Handle jewelry, diamonds, precious metals, and other valuable merchandise with appropriate care.
  • Follow established security, inventory control, and merchandise-handling procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in a production-focused work environment.
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies or processing concerns to appropriate team members or leadership.
  • Support departmental productivity, accuracy, and quality objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with jewelry, diamonds, precious metals, pawn operations, inventory control, or a related field
    .
  • Working knowledge of jewelry, diamonds, and precious metals.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process and document valuable merchandise.
  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to accurately enter, review, and maintain inventory data.

    Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a structured, production-focused environment.
  • Ability to follow established security and merchandise-handling procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Pawnbroker, Jewelry Specialist, Diamond Evaluator, Precious Metals Specialist, Jewelry Appraiser, or similar role
    .
  • Experience evaluating or authenticating diamonds.
  • Experience identifying and evaluating precious metal content.

    Previous jewelry or precious metals inventory control experience.
  • Experience reconciling merchandise or inventory discrepancies.
  • Working knowledge of the V2 system
    .
  • Experience working with high-value merchandise in a secure environment.
