What You Will Be Doing

This position will be responsible for creating and managing an executive communications and engagement plan for the vice president and general manager of the F-35 Lightning II Program, and for disseminating compelling and informative employee communications for the Program. This position will also provide executive communications support for the deputy vice president as needed. This position will partner with subject matter experts to develop narratives and key messages, collaborate with peers to create and execute program milestone communications plans and support other projects as needed.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, proactive, accountable, creative, a strong writer, quick worker and able to adjust and respond to feedback. The successful candidate will also be able to anticipate the needs of the VP and GM and proactively recommend solutions. Reporting to the F-35 Communications senior manager, this individual will partner with the Aero Employee & Executive Communications team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shape executive communications strategy for vice president and general manager of F-35
  • Develop, execute and update executive engagement plan to include employee engagement, thought leadership and external opportunities. Deliverables include speeches, video development, webcasts, award nominations, talking points, etc.
  • Partner with social and digital team to develop and execute digital strategy for general manager and vice president.
  • Develop and execute a strategic internal communications plan to support the F-35 Program strategy. Develop and distribute bi-weekly VP and GM newsletter, the Lightning II Insider.
  • Proactively coordinate with F-35 leaders to identify engagement opportunities and create compelling and informative content to help keep the organization informed and engaged.
  • Create editorial calendar and curate F-35 content on the company’s internal news site (inside

    LM) and the bi-weekly program newsletter.
  • Collaborate with peers to plan and execute strategic communication campaigns for major F-35 program milestones.
  • Manage creation of graphics, photos and videos with visual communications team.
  • Manage team’s distribution lists by updating on a weekly basis.
  • Support other special projects, as required.

Desired Skills

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework:
The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
