Varies. Ability to work a nontraditional schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a seasonal part-time position with no benefits.

Multiple Pool Manager positions are available with the City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department, Aquatics Division at Forest Park and Marine Park aquatics centers. The Park & Recreations Department is seeking professional individuals with a background in pool operations. The Pool Manager is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service and safety for staff and patrons. Limited off-season hours available.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older by May 1, 2026, and a minimum of six (6) months supervisory experience is required.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain (prior to May 15th) a Lifeguard Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of general mechanical operations of a swimming pool.
  • Competent in water safety management; rescue techniques; cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR); first aid applications.
  • Experience working at a municipal swimming pool.
  • Prior experience as a Head Lifeguard, Pool Manager or Assistant Pool Manager.
  • Valid Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification.
The Pool Manager

Job Responsibilities Include
  • Cash handling; collects, secures, and processes pool revenues in accordance with established cash-handling procedures.
  • Enforces facility rules, policies, and safety procedures.
  • Monitors and maintains water chemistry by conducting regular chemical tests, ensuring water quality meets health department standards, and documenting results accurately.
  • Ensures optimal water quality, sanitary conditions, and overall pool performance. Inspects pool and surrounding areas for maintenance needs and assigns cleanup or corrective tasks to staff.
  • Prepares and submits operational reports, including daily receipts, attendance, and incident or emergency response documentation.
  • Collects, secures, and processes pool revenues in accordance with established cash-handling procedures.
  • Responds promptly and effectively to emergency situations as required.
  • Addresses and resolves citizen complaints, directing staff in explaining facility rules and procedures. Disciplines or suspends patrons when necessary to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conducts periodic emergency drills to maintain staff preparedness.
  • Supervises special events and activities.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings to communicate expectations, updates, and operational priorities.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.

Medium work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
