Job Description

Job Summary

The Associate Director of Auxiliary Services supports the Director by providing strategic, managerial, and spiritual leadership for Southwestern’s campus housing community and auxiliary operations, including Recreation and Aerobics and the Campus Post Office. This position is responsible for the day‑to‑day oversight of housing services and assigned auxiliary functions, ensuring a safe, well‑maintained, and Christ‑centered living, learning, and working environment. The Associate Director collaborates with campus partners to steward institutional resources and promote community engagement, wellness, and spiritual formation among students, residents, and employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Director of Auxiliary Services; sets goals and ensures alignment with Southwestern’s mission, values, and best practices.
  • Demonstrates commitment to personal and professional growth in leadership and ministry effectiveness.
  • Oversees housing and auxiliary operations, including staffing, budgets, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborates with campus departments to ensure excellent service and a positive residential and auxiliary experience.
  • Manages housing assignments, occupancy, facilities coordination, billing, meal plans, and records.
  • Leads and develops staff; supports RD/RA training, conduct processes, and community engagement.
  • Provides Christ‑centered leadership, care, and support for residents and staff.
  • Oversees Post Office and RAC operations in collaboration with department managers.
  • Ensures confidentiality, compliance, and completion of other assigned duties.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility.
  • It is the employee and supervisor’s shared responsibility to regularly meet to discuss performance, suggest job description updates and set mutually beneficial goals.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the team and institutional goals.
  • Directly supervises and leads Housing, RAC, and Post Office staff and managers.
  • Cultivates a healthy, faith‑centered, and accountable work culture.
  • Leads staff meetings and training; manages hiring, evaluation, and discipline.
  • Oversees budgets, data integrity, safety, and risk management in coordination with campus partners.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and leadership experience) required; master’s degree in higher education or related field preferred.
  • Preferred experience includes leadership at a Christian educational institution and demonstrated success in higher education operations, student life/services, housing, facilities, and program development.
