Director of Operations

• This role reports to an Area General Manager and optimizes our value stream, ensuring engineering and manufacturing excellence while optimizing value for our customers. The position typically has 3–5 direct reports (Engineering Managers and Plant Managers). Coaching and developing talent is critical to success.
• Ensures customer demands are met or exceeded through cost‑effective and operationally sound manufacturing. Leads a team of engineers and plant managers, coaching them to collaborate effectively to reduce costs and optimize production.
• Guarantees that all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes align with Oldcastle operational excellence strategic objectives. Holds accountability for the overall engineering and operational budget and costs, pursuing an area/regional model for using engineering resources.
• Combines engineering and manufacturing functional strategies to achieve objectives.

• Onsite position located in the Kennedale, TX area.

• Develop strategy and long‑term improvement plans for manufacturing plants, including automation and equipment improvements.
• Conduct in‑depth P&L analytical work.
• Manage freight and transportation logistics.
• Oversee capex purchasing, installations, and payback tracking.
• Lead major project management and large capex evaluation and management.
• Apply knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.

• Strategic 5‑year plan by plant for automation and other equipment.
• Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Manufacturing productivity.
• Control of input (materials, etc.), labor and freight costs.
• Optimization of lead times.
• OPC management.
• 20% YOY reduction of MH/T for like product lines.
• Customer service level (OTD and fill rate).

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of managerial experience.
