Senior Superintendent

Clune Construction seeks a Senior Superintendent to oversee all aspects of project execution in the field, including site access, scheduling, deliveries, logistics, safety, quality, and construction. The role collaborates closely with the Project Manager from pre‑construction through closeout and actively participates in the operations and growth of the firm.

Responsibilities
  • Lead RFP responses, develop presentations, and conduct pitches.
  • Supervise pre‑construction scheduling, logistics, and planning.
  • Create accurate project schedules and weekly field updates, incorporating owner milestones and feasibility input.
  • Prepare schedules and phasing plans for bidding and budgeting.
  • Manage multiple large or complex projects with stringent quality assurance and control.
  • Supervise and manage the internal field team, trade partners, and owner vendors.
  • Promote teamwork and open communication by engaging all trade partners, building management, design teams, and vendors.
  • Identify and resolve on‑site challenges promptly, minimizing cost impact.
  • Advocate for Clune’s safety culture and OSHA standards to maintain zero incidents.
  • Coordinate plans and specifications with architects and engineers and maintain detailed field document control.
  • Develop and mentor Assistant Superintendents and other team members.
  • Support company growth through intern and entry‑level candidate interviews, mentoring programs, and the Intern Program.
  • Participate in business development, client relationship management, industry events, and networking.
  • Develop and deliver training content on industry best practices, technical and human skills.
  • Model professional conduct for all team members.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • May supervise Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, a Project Engineer, and/or interns.
Job Requirements
  • Experience in pre‑construction scheduling, logistics, and planning.
  • Capability to develop robust project schedules and weekly look‑aheads.
  • Budgeting oversight in collaboration with project management.
  • Management of multiple or complex projects with high quality control.
  • Field team coordination, including trades and owner vendors, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Validated coordination of plans and specifications with architects and engineers.
  • Commitment to safety culture and OSHA standards.
  • Foster teamwork and open communication on the project site.
  • Proactively recognize and resolve on‑site challenges.
  • Mentor and train field personnel and support talent development.
  • Participate in potential client interviews.
  • Conscientious, flexible, strong work ethic, team‑first attitude.
  • Highly motivated with strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with high‑end clientele.
  • Provide references and a project list.
  • Provide a resume.
Education and Experience
  • 10+ years of experience managing commercial interior, healthcare, and/or mission‑critical projects.
  • Experience in all aspects of field operations, including scheduling, quality control, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Solid background in construction trades and technical knowledge.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
