The Executive Director of Analytics, Assessment, Reporting, and Accountability (AARA) leads the district’s design, integration, and execution of a coherent assessment, data, and performance management system to accelerate student achievement. This role aligns all assessment, data, and accountability systems, ensures real‑time, actionable intelligence for instructional decision‑making, and serves as the primary data integrity and accountability leader in partnership with the Texas Education Agency.
ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS Assessment & Data Systems Coherence
- Lead the design, integration, and continuous improvement of a system of assessment, data, and accountability aligned to TEKS, instructional priorities, and state requirements.
- Ensure alignment across all assessment components, including Demonstrations of Learning (DOLs), interim assessments, benchmarks, and state assessments.
- Oversee development of the district’s local assessment strategy with Curriculum & Instruction, ensuring alignment to grade‑level expectations and instructional frameworks.
- Configure, integrate, and monitor digital instructional and assessment platforms to support learning and progress monitoring.
- Develop and deliver high‑quality, timely, actionable data reports at the student, classroom, campus, feeder pattern, and district levels.
- Maintain accuracy, integrity, and one‑time entry of all assessment data, aligning with district, state, and federal reporting requirements.
- Lead real‑time dashboard and reporting tool implementation to enable educators to monitor progress and performance trends.
- Serve as the district liaison with the Texas Education Agency on assessment data and accountability matters.
- Establish processes ensuring reliable data access across departments and external partners.
- Drive district expectations for data‑informed instruction, using assessment results to guide reteach, acceleration, and grouping decisions.
- Embed data use into PLCs, ILTs, and campus planning cycles to improve teaching and learning.
- Develop a comprehensive data literacy strategy for teachers, principals, assistant principals, and district leaders.
- Align assessment data with instructional planning tools, such as Instructional Planning Calendars and DOLs.
- Oversee accountability systems, ensuring accurate A‑F calculation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Lead analytics for college, career, and military readiness indicators, aligning with district goals and funding priorities.
- Use accountability data to identify gaps, inform strategy, and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain performance monitoring systems tracking progress toward district goals.
- Oversee design and improvement of performance management systems for staff, including T‑TESS, T‑PESS, and T‑SCESS.
- Lead TIA system implementation, ensuring compliance and alignment to district priorities.
- Develop performance scorecards integrating student outcomes, instructional practice, and educator effectiveness.
- Use performance data to guide talent decisions, professional learning, and compensation strategies.
- Provide strategic leadership and direct supervision of the AARA team.
- Build cross‑functional partnerships with Curriculum & Instruction, School Leadership, Technology, Talent Management, and other departments.
- Lead short‑ and long‑term strategic plan development for AARA.
- Manage budgets, staffing, and resource allocation for AARA.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district data reporting requirements.
