Job Overview
As an Inbound Dock Supervisor you oversee dock operations, supervise and coordinate activities of dock associates, and manage routing of shipments, loading and unloading freight. You ensure pickup and delivery units close on schedule, manage inbound close‑out, and maintain the integrity of loads.
Responsibilities- Oversee dock operations and supervise dock associates assigned to the dock and/or yard.
- Coordinate routing of shipments and loading/unloading of freight.
- Ensure pickup & delivery unit closures at agreed‑upon times and handle special customer requests.
- Oversee inbound close‑out to ensure timeliness.
- Manage P&D loading, including stops, weight and load conditions to meet error‑free standards.
- Implement an effective loss prevention plan in the Service Center.
- Maintain accountability for the integrity of P&D loads originating at the Service Center.
- Plan warehouse and storage layout with consideration of turnover, size, weight and other factors.
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedule and expedite workflow.
- Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies.
- Identify significant risks and implement adequate controls.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years of dock or leadership experience, or completion of the SE Management Training Program.
