An established structural-steel fabrication and erection contractor is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support its continued growth across Texas.

The successful candidate will manage multiple structural-steel projects simultaneously, taking responsibility for commercial performance, fabrication schedules, subcontractors, change orders and client relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multiple structural-steel projects from setup through closeout
  • Establish project objectives, fabrication schedules and delivery milestones
  • Maintain responsibility for budgets, margins and financial performance
  • Review vendor proposals and manage supplier relationships
  • Coordinate subcontractors, detailing, fabrication and field operations
  • Negotiate and administer change orders
  • Provide clear production, financial, quality and safety updates
  • Build long-term relationships with customers and project stakeholders
  • Identify labour, equipment and capacity requirements
  • Lead project-process improvements across the business
  • Support and mentor less-experienced project-management personnel
Requirements
  • Ten or more years of relevant industry experience
  • At least five years managing structural-steel projects
  • Commercial steel fabrication and erection experience
  • Strong understanding of project financials and change management
  • Ability to interpret structural, shop and erection drawings
  • Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Knowledge of AISC standards and construction practices is preferred
  • Experience with Tekla, Fab Suite or similar systems is advantageous
  • PMP certification would be beneficial
