Executive Director, Facilities, Environmental Health and Safety
The Executive Director Facilities Engineering & EHS oversees network operations for the Facilities and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Departments for JPS Health Network. This role provides direct consultation to the Planning, Design, and Construction (PD&C) department on all construction projects specific to design and construction for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems and compliance. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards for building operations, medical equipment management, and healthcare-related codes.
This position maintains all JPS network facilities (district-owned, district-leased, and newly built or renovated facilities and property) in compliance with all Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to meet and/or exceed regulatory requirements for accreditation. The Executive Director provides leadership direction and support to all stakeholders to ensure compliance with all aspects of the physical environment to include safety, security, hazardous waste and materials, fire safety, medical equipment, and facilities management.
This role collaborates with stakeholders to reduce incidents and improve regulatory compliance across all facilities.
Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Safety and Health, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, Business Administration or related field of study from an accredited college or University.
- 10 plus years of experience within facilities engineering, facilities management, and regulatory compliance of a health care facility or similar facility.
- 5 plus years of experience leading a team with a focus in the design, development, and general operational oversight of environmental, health, and safety disciplines.
- Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM)
* AHA. - Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP)
* IBFCSM. - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) ICS 100, 200 and 700 certifications to be obtained within one year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Safety and Health, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, Business Administration or related field of study from an accredited college or University.
- Engineering degree from an accredited program or similar experience.
