Job Description
Sets up and operates internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work.
Responsibilities- Sets up and operates internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work.
- Performs difficult grinding work on any and all types of grinders.
- Grinds steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours and threads.
- Sets up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads. Selects proper speeds, feeds, and wheels.
- Holds work to required tolerances. Setups are exacting, usually requiring firm and accurately set fixtures, rests or blocks.
All types of grinders, machinists’ hand tools, precision measuring instruments.
Experience & Other Requirements- Three years of production grinding experience including setup.
