Overview

Job Description - Material Bonder A - 1st Shift (ROC) (339183)

• Work from blueprints, Bell Process Specifications, drawings or written specifications to perform all necessary layouts and prepare parts or articles for pressure bonding.
• Plan operations and perform assembling, fitting, and trimming as required; apply either liquid or solid bonding agents.
• Use production aids such as jigs, fixtures and hand tools.
• Check work to ensure selection and application of the proper bonding agent, correct assembly and fitting, and place articles in a pressure furnace.
• Control heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to specifications for the materials and bonding agent being used.
• Maintain close watch over furnace controls during the bonding process to ensure a successful bond and prevent damage to articles.
• Inspect finished articles and ensure safe operation of equipment.

• Required hand tools, power tools necessary to perform own work
• Liquid or solid bonding agents
• Autoclave, measuring instruments, jigs, fixtures
• Spray guns, brushes, oven, gloves and related safety equipment

• Two years metal fitting or forming experience, one year of which must have been in bonding work including the operation of a pressure furnace, or
• Two years of Bell Material Bonder B or Material Bonder – I classification experience, or
• One year Bell Material Bonder B experience combined with one year metal fitting or forming experience.
