The CNC Router Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC routing machines to cut and shape aluminum parts according to specific project requirements. This role involves technical precision, material handling, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards to ensure efficient production of components for architectural aluminum systems.
What you’ll do- Machine Operation
:
Set up, program, and operate CNC router machines to perform precise cuts, drilling, and shaping on aluminum extrusions and sheets - Blueprint Interpretation
:
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and shop orders to determine project specifications and tolerances - Tooling & Maintenance
:
Select appropriate cutting tools and bits; perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot minor technical issues to minimize downtime - Quality Control
:
Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure they meet Alumination’s quality standards and project dimensions - Material Handling
:
Load and unload aluminum materials onto the machine bed using proper lifting techniques or assisted machinery - Workflow Coordination
:
Coordinate with the Shop Manager and Project Coordinators to ensure production schedules are met and material waste is minimized
- Education
:
High School Diploma or GED required; technical certification in CNC machining preferred - Experience
: 2+ years of experience operating CNC machinery, specifically routers for metal or aluminum fabrication - Technical Skills
:
Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code) and familiarity with CAM software - Mechanical Aptitude
:
Strong understanding of mechanical processes, tooling, and fabrication techniques - Detail Oriented

High level of precision and accuracy in measuring and inspecting parts
