Position Overview
The new facility will contain a broad range of chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal processes, including high temperature chemistry, handling of molten metals, powder metallurgy, machining, and assembly. The Material Handler must engage with a broad range of technical specialists to understand the physical processes, key control metrics, and potential hazards involved. The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient and organized movement of materials, products, and goods within our production facility and for supporting our production team in operations tasks needed to meet manufacturing requirements.
PositionResponsibilities
- Movement of Materials; reading work orders/transfer orders, physical and system movement of material, cycle counting, and shipping finished goods/materials.
- Operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Operate production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.
- Participate in the Safety Programs and proactively uphold the Safety Culture.
- Maintain work area and equipment in clean orderly condition and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Perform required equipment inspections, sweep, dust, mop and organize warehouse/work area to ensure safe operation.
- Cross train and help in other areas depending on workload.
- Complete any other tasks as needed or as directed by management.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to operate lift trucks, cranes, and other material handling equipment.
- Must be able to follow established written and verbal instructions.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding and knowledge of manufacturing management systems and ERP.
- SAP Experience.
- Knowledge of how workflow operates in a production facility.
