Lasko Products, an industry leader of home environment products for over 100 years, is looking to add a Plastic Injection Molding Process Technician to the team in our Fort Worth, TX manufacturing facility.
The Plastic Injection Molding Process Technicians will perform duties to set‑up and cycle a variety of plastic injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment and make process adjustments to ensure proper function and quality parts.
Essential Functions- Set‑up, start‑up, troubleshoot, and monitor injection molding machines and related equipment to ensure production
- Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects
- Make machine adjustments, injection pressure, and cycle times for a wide range of plastic materials to ensure proper quality and function of parts
- Ensure part/material containment measures are implemented
- Troubleshoot molding problems
- Notify maintenance of any equipment issues; notify mold repair department and supervisor of any mold issues
- Watch production monitoring software for machines stopping, cycles not to standards, color changes and mold changes
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis of factors affecting overall product quality
- Enter all scrap into the production monitoring system; weigh and document all purging before disposing
- Communicate part quality issues, process issues, safety issues and resolutions to next shift
- Occasionally lead the department in the absence of the shift supervisor
- Run scrap/downtime reports from monitoring system and communicate large scrap numbers and major downtime codes
- Use personal computer, digital calipers, gauges, and hand tools
- Follow safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly
Education and Experience
- High School or equivalent. Technical education/background and Associate’s Degree preferred
- Ideally 3–5 years’ injection technician experience
- Team player who demonstrates the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the organization
- Experience with robotics systems with ability to set‑up, troubleshoot and start‑up injection molding equipment
- Familiarity with various types of plastic material and knowledge of Milacron injection molding equipment ranging up to 1000‑ton capacity required
