Location:

1301 Joel E Road, Fort Worth, TX, 76140, United States — Job Category: PRODUCTION, MANUFACTURING — Employee Type: FT Hourly-Non Exempt.

The material handler is responsible for all aspects of conveying and packaging product; mixing additive required on certain products; hand loading and dumping various raw materials. Responsible for quality, safety, and housekeeping.

Responsibilities
  • Support material flow to ensure efficient warehouse and production operations
  • Identify difference between final packaging
  • Properly make up boxes
  • Sample boxes and mark samples properly
  • Monitor in-feed and out-feed conveyors and ensure proper movement of boxes
  • Assist with staging and preparation of raw materials for production and shipping
  • Operate the material hoist
  • Hand load additives in AT01 batches
  • Update records on silos
  • Keep up with levels of product in all holding tanks used
  • Maintains production material storage area, including recording material transactions in inventory records and properly storing items
  • Maintains order and accuracy in material handling areas
  • Perform all required machine cleaning
  • Document work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
  • Participate in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes and methods
  • Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work process, and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement manner environment
  • Must be able to operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality production
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and stand for an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to safely drive a forklift
  • Read and follow manuals and procedures
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace
  • Must be dependable and have excellent attendance
  • Possess a positive attitude
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime as needed, up to every other weekend
  • Willing and able to work in temperature extremes - hot and cold
  • Must be able to pass a forklift test and a respirator fit test
  • Attendance is an essential function of the position
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
Education and Experience
  • Preferred high school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred forklift experience
  • Preferred previous manufacturing experience
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

CONTACTS : Internal - Continuously (67 - 100%) External - Rarely (1 - 5%) Contacts involve giving or exchanging information of a limited controversial nature.

Regularly

  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, including overhead working
  • Talk and hear to coordinate and operate equipment
  • Use of safety equipment as dictated by the work (safety glasses, safety shoes, respirators, face shields, hearing protection, gloves, etc.)
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts

Frequently

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Climb ladders and stairs
  • Work in temperature extremes, wet and/or humid conditions, with dust, fumes, airborne particles.

Occasionally

  • Sit
  • Handle (with mechanical equipment) up to 2500 pounds
  • Exposure to noise levels above the OSHA action level requiring use of hearing protection

  • Specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Standard warehouse and production environment. The noise level is moderate, due to equipment.
