Forklift Operator 2nd Shift – Press Department

Primary Role

Keep the press running by safely delivering the right material at the right time.

• Deliver coils, sheets, and blanks to the correct press.
• Remove finished goods and scrap bins.
• Follow FIFO (First‑In, First‑Out) to prevent line stoppages.
• Move coils safely using proper attachments.
• Verify coil , heat number, thickness, and grade.
• Check for damage (dents, rust, broken bands).
• Ensure the right material goes to the right press; avoid mix‑ups.
• Double‑check labels before staging.
• Scan or track materials and keep staging and storage areas organized.
• Report shortages or mismatches immediately.
• Perform daily forklift inspection.
• Drive controlled in high‑traffic areas, keep loads low, stable, and secure, and sound horn at intersections.
• Use proper attachments for heavy coils and wear required PPE (steel‑toe boots, safety glasses, gloves).
• No damaged material during transport.
• No mixed materials at press.
• Report defects immediately.
