Description

Job Description:

* Sets up and operates internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work

* Must be able and is required to perform any type of difficult grinding work on any and all types grinders

* Grinds steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours and threads

* Must be able to set up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads  Selects proper speeds, feeds, and wheels

* Holds work to required tolerances  Setups are exacting, usually requiring firm and accurately set fixtures, rests or blocks

Tools & Equipment Used:

All types of grinders, machinists' hand tools, precision measuring instruments

Qualifications

Experience & Other Requirements:

* Three years of production grinding experience including setup
