Are you a skilled machinist ready to take ownership of your setups?
At Pride Staff, we partner with top manufacturing facilities in the DFW region. We are currently seeking a reliable CNC Lathe Operator who can read a blueprint, set up their own machine, and run production independently. If you have solid setup experience and take pride in producing quality parts, we have a great opportunity for you!
(
Please note:
This role requires passing a written machinist skills test prior to placement).
What You'll Do:
In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Lathes to produce precision parts. While programming experience is not required, you must be comfortable navigating the machine controls and making necessary adjustments.
- Independent Setup: Perform machine setups on CNC Lathes (including changing out chucks, collets, tooling, and work holding) to prepare for production runs.
- Blueprint Translation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to understand part requirements and tolerances.
- Machine Operation: Load materials, cycle the machine, and monitor performance. Make minor tool offsets and wear adjustments at the control panel as needed.
- Quality Checks: Perform your own in-process inspections using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, etc.) to ensure parts meet exact specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Identify basic tooling wear or machine issues and replace inserts or tooling as necessary to keep production running smoothly.
- Experience: 2-4+ years of hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC Lathes in a manufacturing environment. (No from-scratch programming required).
- Technical Knowledge: Must be able to pass a written machining and industrial math test assessing blueprint reading, decimals/fractions, and basic CNC concepts.
- Math & Print Skills: Strong ability to read blueprints and use standard precision measurement tools.
- Independence: Once given an assignment and a print, you can set up the machine and run the job with minimal supervision.
- Reliability: Excellent attendance history and a safety-first mindset.
- Weekly Pay: Get paid every Friday!
- Health Benefits: Access to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Career Growth: Get your foot in the door with a premier local employer looking for long-term team members.
- Personalized Support: We advocate for you and match you with environments where your skills are valued.
