Job DescriptionSets up and operates internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work. Performs difficult grinding work on any type of grinder. Grinds steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours and threads. Sets up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads, selecting proper speeds, feeds, and wheels. Holds work to required tolerances with exacting setups requiring firm, accurately set fixtures, rests, or blocks.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders.
- Perform any type of difficult grinding work on all grinder types.
- Grind steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours and threads.
- Set up truing devices on thread grinding, selecting proper speeds, feeds, and wheels.
- Hold work to required tolerances; ensure setups are exacting and fixtures are accurately set.
All types of grinders, machinists’ hand tools, precision measuring instruments.
Experience & Other RequirementsThree years of production grinding experience, including setup. This position requires the use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee). Non-U.S. persons selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-restricted information.
