Production Support Engineer II is responsible for providing expert production floor support and full ownership of assembly work instructions, routings, and bills of material for our defense electro-mechanical products. Work will be completed both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and ensure the highest quality standards.

• Provide expert technical support to production teams during the manufacturing process, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing corrective actions promptly. Be the go-to resource for production floor support.
• Understanding Customer Specifications:
  Apply customer specifications to production processes.
  • Utilize your knowledge of customer and industry specifications to ensure that production processes are in alignment with customer requirements and expectations, ensuring consistent quality and compliance.
• Assembly Work Instructions:
  Lead the development and updating of assembly work instructions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive assembly work instructions for defense electro-mechanical products, incorporating best practices and ensuring clarity for production teams. Take ownership of the work instruction process, setting the standard for accuracy and adherence to company and industry standards.
• Routing and Bill of Material (BOM) Management:
  Manage routings and BOMs in ERP system.
  • Independently manage routings and bills of material in the ERP system, accurately reflecting current manufacturing processes and material requirements. Leverage your experience to optimize routings and BOMs for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Tooling Research:
  Research and specify tooling requirements.
  • Research and recommend advanced tooling solutions for defense electro-mechanical products, optimizing production processes and reducing lead times. Utilize your expertise to specify new tooling for improved productivity.
• Process Improvement:
  Drive process optimization initiatives.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, utilizing lean manufacturing principles and advanced methodologies to optimize operations, reduce costs, and enhance overall product quality.
• Oversee the documentation management process, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and industry-specific requirements. Ensure that manufacturing documentation is accurate, accessible, and up-to-date.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  
  Collaborate with teams across the organization.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, contributing your expertise to foster seamless integration of processes and enhance communication across departments.
• Equipment & Tooling Knowledge:
  Possess expertise in equipment and tooling.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of various types of equipment and tools on the production floor. Use your knowledge to specify new equipment and tooling and contribute to the design of advanced solutions.
• Bid & Proposal Support:
  Collaborate on pricing efforts for bids and proposals.
  • Collaborate closely with the bid and proposal team, providing accurate labor and material estimates, and supporting strategic decision-making. Draw upon your experience to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or related role, preferably in defense electro‑mechanical products.
• Strong knowledge of assembly work instructions, routings, and BOM management.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems and CAD software for routing and BOM updates.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting complex technical issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and achieve measurable results.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret drawings and parts lists.
• Excellent understanding of customer and industry specifications, with a focus on applying them to production processes.
