Description
Leads a team of Manufacturing Engineers and Model Builders responsible for the fabrication, assembly, installation, and test support of prototypes, radar cross section (RCS) hardware and coatings, scale models, tooling, ergonomic aids, simulators, and other specialized test and development articles. Responsible for planning, prioritizing, and executing model shop activities to meet customer requirements, technical objectives, schedule commitments, and cost targets. Oversees the development of manufacturing plans, build packages, fabrication methods, and assembly processes while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of work.
Provides leadership for personnel engaged in the fabrication and assembly of precision hardware, tooling, fixtures, jigs, molds, patterns, templates, and complex three-dimensional structures to exacting tolerances utilizing a variety of manufacturing processes and materials. Serves as the primary interface between the Model Shop and Engineering, Test Operations, Program Management, and Production organizations. Responsible for workforce development, labor planning and tracking, budget execution, time charging approval, shop maintenance, resource allocation, and continuous improvement efforts to maximize team productivity and customer satisfaction.
Identifies and pursues opportunities to support emerging customer requirements and expand team utilization.
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

- LO testing support experience
- CNC machining experience
- Manual machining experience
- Composite layup experience
- Structure assembly experience
- Experience creating and reviewing engineering drawings utilizing PDM and EDMS tools
- CATIA model review experience
- Ergonomic part fabrication experience
- Woodworking experience
- Time charging review and approval experience (My Time Card , Auto Time)
