We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Support Engineer to provide hands‑on manufacturing support for complex defense electro‑mechanical products. This role is responsible for supporting production operations, maintaining assembly work instructions, routings, and bills of materials (BOMs), and driving continuous process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and manufacturability. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical problem‑solving skills, ERP system experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary technical resource for production floor support and troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues in a timely manner
- Implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and improve product quality
- Develop, maintain, and improve assembly work instructions for electro‑mechanical products
- Ensure documentation is accurate, clear, and compliant with customer and industry requirements
- Maintain routings and bills of materials (BOMs) within the ERP system
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction
- Apply lean manufacturing principles and best practices to optimize production processes
- Identify opportunities for tooling, equipment, and workflow improvements
- Research, recommend, and implement tooling solutions to improve manufacturing performance
- Support equipment selection and process development initiatives
- Provide technical expertise related to production equipment and tooling
- Partner with engineering, quality, production, supply chain, and program teams to support manufacturing objectives
- Assist with labor and material estimates for bids and proposals
- Support new product introduction and process implementation activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, production support, or a related role
- Experience supporting electro‑mechanical manufacturing environments preferred; defense industry experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of:
- Assembly work instructions
- Routings and BOM management
- Manufacturing processes and documentation control
- Proficiency with ERP systems and CAD software
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and parts lists
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives with measurable results
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to mentor and support junior team members
- Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments
- Exposure to machinery, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, temperature fluctuations, and moderate to high noise levels may occur
- Required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, must be worn in designated areas
