Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a key role in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for aerospace components. This position focuses on improving efficiency, ensuring high-quality production standards, and solving complex manufacturing challenges in a fast-paced startup environment. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality, to streamline operations, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of products.
This role is critical to supporting the scaling of manufacturing as the company grows.
- Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace components.
- Identify areas for efficiency improvements and cost reductions in production.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues to minimize downtime and improve quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production performance and ensure scalability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or relevant experience.
- 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus in rapid growth environments.
- Experience in owning the scale of production processes in a startup or rapid-growth environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, composites, avionics and/or assembly.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of quality standards, such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Familiarity with advanced manufacturing technologies, such as additive manufacturing or automation systems.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and data‑driven decision‑making in a manufacturing context.
- Hands‑on experience with manufacturing equipment and tooling design.
- Strong project management skills, including experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
$117,588 - $218,565 a year
