** Manufacturing*
* ** Laboratory Technician
** to support quality testing and food safety operations in a dairy manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing routine laboratory analyses on raw milk, in-process samples, and finished dairy products to ensure compliance with internal specifications, regulatory requirements, and SQF food safety standards.
The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, basic laboratory skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production-support environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

** 40 hours/week | Evening Shift (7:00 PM start)
** Pay Rate:** $ 20.00/hour
** Assignment Duration:** ~30 days (Temp role)
** Key Responsibilities*
* + Perform routine testing of raw milk, cream, cheese, sour cream, juices, and by-products
+ Conduct microbiological plating (e.g., SPC, coliform, yeast & mold, VRBS, PI plates)
+ Analyze and record results from incubated samples at scheduled time intervals
+ Perform shelf-life and stress testing on dairy and beverage products
+ Conduct pH testing, water testing, and environmental swabbing
+ Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including incubators, centrifuges, autoclaves, pH meters, refractometers, and analyzers
+ Calibrate instruments and verify equipment accuracy on a scheduled basis
+ Conduct ATP swabbing and pre-operational sanitation inspections of production lines
+ Prepare, label, and handle samples according to SOPs and GMP guidelines
+ Maintain accurate documentation in laboratory information systems
+ Support COA preparation, inventory tracking, and sample management
+ Perform sanitation and cleaning of laboratory tools, glassware, and work spaces
+ Follow all GMP, SQF, OSHA, and food safety procedures
+ Assist with audits, inspections, and quality compliance checks
+ Support production teams by ensuring timely release of quality results
** Required Qualifications*
* + High school diploma required;
** 2 years of college coursework preferred*
* + Basic math and measurement skills
+ Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to follow detailed SOPs and regulatory procedures
+ Comfortable working in a food manufacturing/laboratory environment
+ Ability to work night shift and maintain 40 hours per week
+ Must be 18 years or older
** Preferred Skills*
* + Laboratory or food testing experience
+ Microbiology or chemistry lab exposure
+
Experience with dairy or food manufacturing environments
+ Familiarity with plating techniques and microbial testing
+ Ability to operate laboratory instruments (pH meter, incubators, analyzers, etc.)
+ Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
** Work Environment*
* + Dairy manufacturing laboratory setting
+ Exposure to cold environments (35°F-38°F) and room temperature areas
+ Occasional exposure to noise and cleaning chemicals
+ Standing, walking, and repetitive laboratory tasks required
+ PPE required: bump cap, steel-toe slip-resistant shoes (additional PPE provided onsite)
** Shift Details*
* + 7:00 PM start time
+ 40-hour work week (Sunday-Tuesday off schedule)
+ Paid breaks: two 20-minute breaks per shift
+ Mandatory flexibility after initial training period (possible schedule change)
