Primary Responsibilities/
Essential Job Functions:
This Team Lead role reports directly to the EHS Manager. The lead assists leadership with daily activities regarding Environmental, Safety and Health to ensure that the plant is meeting environmental, safety, health, quality, delivery and cost goals. The Lead communicates daily, weekly and monthly requirements and expectations within the facility. The Lead will be involved in most operational environmental, safety and health aspects of all shifts.
They will provide valuable feedback to Supervisors and Managers regarding performance of the safety program and engagement of employees within the facility.
* Champion safety program(s) to promote a safety-first culture at the plant
* Create, revise, and update safety material to develop training materials (Just 10 Minute Meetings, Tool Box Talks, Annual Awareness Training, etc.)
* Assists with Maintaining all record keeping associated with environmental, safety and health program(s)
* Lead the safety orientation program (New Hire, Visitor and Contractor Safety)
* Create and Update JSA's, MOC's, Safety Dojo training materials, LOTO, A3's and other safety requirements to sustain and continually improve them.
* Design and build safety solutions
* Coach employees and give feedback as needed regarding safety
* Facilitate and lead EHS Star Point meetings and activities.
* Conduct EHS inspections and assessments in a timely manner.
* Facilitate EHS concern, near miss, and incident investigations and help drive to closure.
* Assist with online EHS applications (Gen Suite, SDS Database, Humantech, etc.)
* Attend location meetings as they occur and communicate pertinent information back to team
* Know and practice EHS regulations while continually growing and learning to grow the ESH culture.
* Conduct layered audits, follow up on open action items and update audit questions to support continuous improvement
* Support completion and follow-through of TPM activities
* Review Team Boards and DBHs to ensure documentation remains current
* Engage with Starpoint teams to encourage active participation, accountability, and alignment with site priorities
* Prepare for and assist during Kaizen events
* Update signage and support 5S improvements to maintain a clean, organized, and visually managed workplace
* Perform formal 5S audits using standardized checklists
* Assist with problem-solving activities for Team Boards and High Performance Teams
* Review the health of Kanbans systems to ensure proper material flow, replenishment, and visual management
Perform other duties as assigned including work of an equal or lower classification
Minimum Qualifications (relevant experience, education and/or training):
* High School Diploma or GED, recognizes International Diplomas (may need to be translated to English)
* U.S. citizen or permanent residency status required
* At least two (2) years experience working in a manufacturing environment, must be familiar with operational processes in order to provide accurate technical and operational assistance.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Standard Work, 5S, Lean, and equipment operation and ability to multitask
* Must be able to work and communicate effectively with peers as a role model, be able to deal with conflict appropriately in small or large groups between departments and all levels of the organization. Demonstrated leadership skills and able to lead by example.
* Must be able to write legibly, read and speak English
* Excellent interpersonal and teambuilding skills
* Strong problem-solving skills
* Intermediate computer skills (Excel; Word; PowerPoint) and an aptitude to learn programs such as Gensuite and Humantech. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Willingness to learn OSHA and EPA regulations
* Basic understanding of shop math and measuring skills, including the ability to convert fractions and decimals
* Occasional travel required for additional training and/or best-practice sharing
* Flexible schedule with all shifts weekly, and as needed
* Attendance and punctuality is required; overtime as deemed necessary
* Support and commit to Parker's Code of Ethics, policies and procedures
