We are looking for detail‑conscious and dedicated people to join our Art Department team as a Sports Mat Painter, responsible for hand painting logos, designs, and letters on large‑scale mats (wrestling, martial arts, etc.). No experience needed – WE'LL TRAIN YOU.
JOB DESCRIPTION- Frequent kneeling/crawling on a mat while painting logos, measuring, and cutting.
- Prepare painting surfaces for customized artwork, including assembling rolls and inspecting for defects.
- With assistance from an artist, learn to read and understand layouts and translate them into mat decoration.
- Maintain attention to detail for mat dimensions, logo reproduction, placement, and sizing.
- Handle materials by moving rolls, laying mats down, picking them up when complete, and preparing rolls for packaging.
The goal is to build your skills as a Sports Mat Painter and promote you before your 1 year anniversary.
QUALIFICATIONS- Experience with skilled labor is a plus, but not necessary.
- This role is laborious; there is no graphic or computer work associated with this position’s duties.
- The ideal candidate is detail oriented and good with measurements.
- Ability to speak, read & write in English.
- Willing to work overtime and/or some weekends as required.
- Experience using hand‑cutting tools, tape measure, and straight edge is a plus.
- Must be able to work on your feet and knees, bend, stoop, and lift consistently for all scheduled hours.
- Must be able to manipulate and move material weighing up to 100 lbs., either rolling, lifting, or using a hand cart.
- Standing and kneeling for an excessive amount of time.
- This position will function in a manufacturing environment to fulfill essential duties: sit, stand, kneel, crouch, walk, and climb stairs.
- Must use eyes to focus on color‑matching art placement and product quality; occasionally the role will be required to move objects unassisted weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, and smoke may occur.
