Responsibilities- Applies dope, lacquer, paint, and other finishing material to finish or refinish aircraft, equipment, and facilities.
- Prepares surfaces for painting by removing all foreign substances and removing old or chipped paint.
- Masks surfaces not to be painted.
- Applies primers and fillers and rubs intermediate coats to assure smooth and uniform coating to avoid streaks and blemishes.
- Must be able to match colors for spot or repair jobs.
- May prepare and mix paints to desired colors and consistencies.
- Polishes final coat with wax or polishing compound.
- Does rework as required.
- Performs lettering with stencils.
- Paints, primers, lacquers, enamels, varnishes, and thinners.
- Spray guns, pressure pots, air hoses, rollers and brushes.
- Templates, trammel points, rules and measuring tapes, and stencil cutting machines, etc.
Three (3) years’ experience as an Aircraft Painter.
