Principal Consultant, Warehouse Simulation

Spinnaker SCA, a Publicis Sapient company, is seeking a Principal Consultant with deep expertise in warehouse simulation modeling to lead strategic design and optimization engagements as a part of our Warehouse Operations & Automation practice. This is a hands‑on consulting role for professionals who thrive at the intersection of data‑driven modeling

You’ll work with global brands to simulate, evaluate, and optimize warehouse operations using tools like Any Logic
, Flex Sim

Required qualifications

Here’s what you need to bring to the table:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Supply Chain or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required. Equivalent experience includes a proven track record of skills, professional accomplishments, or training related to the role.
  • 5+ Years of building both Discrete Event and Monte Carlo models to model supply chain operations.
  • 7+ years of experience in warehouse/distribution center design, operations, or consulting.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in developing complex models using discrete event simulation tools like Any Logic, Flex Sim, or comparable software.
  • Experience in testing and validating simulation models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Proven ability to translate operational data into actionable simulation insights.
  • Ability to create comprehensive technical documentation for models and processes as well as training materials.
  • Experience leading simulation‑based design or optimization projects for warehouse or fulfillment environments.
  • Proficient with Linux core utilities, Git for version control, and capable of deploying these models to cloud platforms where end users can run them independently.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse processes, automation systems, and material handling equipment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to travel based on client engagement needs.
Experience that's a plus

You’ll stand out if you also bring experience with:

  • Designing greenfield or retrofit distribution centers.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), automation controls, and layout planning.
  • Exposure to digital twin concepts and emulation of control systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Power BI for data analysis and visualization.
  • Ability to customize and integrate simulation models with other software systems.
  • Proficiency in Auto Cad and integration into Any Logic simulation models, particularly for layouts of distribution facilities.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma, PMP, or APICS.
  • Experience with project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).Ability to create insightful visualizations that effectively communicate simulation outcomes.
What you'll actually do
  • Lead simulation modeling engagements for warehouse and distribution center operations.
  • Develop and validate discrete event simulation models to assess throughput, congestion, staffing, and automation performance.
  • Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate design alternatives, process changes, and automation strategies.
  • Collaborate with clients to define project scope, KPIs, and success metrics.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders across technical and executive levels.
  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
  • Support proposal development and contribute to solution architecture for new opportunities.
