Batch Technician Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Batch Technician to support our manufacturing operations by preparing, testing, and managing chemical batches for production. This role is responsible for ensuring chemicals are available when needed, maintaining accurate records, handling chemical inventory, and following all safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, test, and monitor chemical batches for production.
  • Unload, store, and transfer chemicals from trucks, railcars, tanks, drums, and totes.
  • Perform quality checks and monitor mixing processes.
  • Maintain chemical inventory and communicate potential shortages before production is impacted.
  • Complete required documentation and daily reports accurately and on time.
  • Keep chemical and lab areas clean while maintaining proper housekeeping standards.
  • Respond to and clean up chemical spills in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Follow all chemical safety, environmental, PPE, and company policies.
  • Report quality concerns or non-conformities to management promptly.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Basic computer, math, and English (written and verbal) skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and varying schedules as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, bend, twist, climb stairs/ladders, and work at heights using fall protection when required.
  • Ability to work in varying temperature conditions and wear required PPE.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and product densities according to specifications.
  • Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain certification and maintain compliance with company requirements).
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
