Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift in Fort Worth

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the technician will be responsible for setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining production/manufacturing equipment and machinery for a meat processing and packaging facility. The technician performs routine inspections on equipment and preventative maintenance per manufacturers and management’s specifications. The technician diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes equipment, machinery, physical structures, electronic controls and plumbing/electrical systems.

• Inspect, measure, and test equipment while in operation visually and auditorily to detect malfunction, wear, misalignment, or other abnormalities. Inspect used parts to identify root-cause of failures.
• Assist with replacement/spare part identification and procurement.
• Demonstrate excellent, responsible decision-making and problem solving based on company values and best practices.
• Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Communicate equipment/operations status with team members and management. Inform appropriate management personnel of equipment and parts needs.
• Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), inputting data, recording service events, and other activities as necessary.
• Layout, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Provide support for production/operations to ensure optimum equipment and facility effectiveness.
• Assist production personnel in change-over and set-up procedures.
• Attend safety classes/training as required.
• Accompany and oversee 3rd party vendors/contractors while on-site.
• Provide on-the-job training to associates as assigned.
• Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Understand and adhere to HACCP regulations within company and product specifications.
• Metal fabrication, cutting, welding, assembly, primarily stainless steel.
• Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Education:
  
  High School or equivalent is required. Technical training or classes is .
• Experience:
  
  5 years industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment working with production and facility equipment, primarily automated, such as:

• A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
• Advanced electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting knowledge.
• Programmable Logic Control troubleshooting experience.
• Welding, plumbing, and pipe fitting experience.
• Ability to identify various parts and read mechanical and electrical drawings, instructions, gauges, micrometers, etc.
• Ability to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations issued by OSHA, EPA, Labor & Employment Law, and other federal, state, and local regulations, including Lock-out/Tag-out, confined spaces, and personal protection regulations.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Must be able to work Nights, Weekends & Holidays.
