Overview

The Tube Laser Operator is responsible for operating laser equipment to cut and process tubes, ensuring jobs are set up and executed according to customer specifications. They are highly motivated and have a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment. This role is vital to ensuring our customers’ needs are consistently met, promoting our company’s continued strong national growth.

Responsibilities
  • Plan sequence of operations and review blueprints to ensure precision.
  • Make proper setups for cutting operations.
  • Operate a crane or forklift to move materials as needed.
  • Set up, maintain, and operate tube laser.
  • Perform first part checks with basic measuring tools (Calipers, tape measure, etc).
  • Clean-up parts (finishing & de-burr) for smooth edges.
  • Always pay attention to the machine to ensure it is working properly.
  • Accurately project completion of work orders at work center.
  • Perform prescribed maintenance as required.

    Complete assignments on-time and correctly.
  • Continually maintain a clean working environment.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Perform other related operations as required or directed. May work at different workstations as production needs require.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience.
  • Work experience with CNC equipment.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, routers, use simple/basic math.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to read and understand handheld measuring devices.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
