Lay out, position, align, and fit together fabricated structural steel components and multi-component assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications;
Read and accurately interpret complex industrial blueprints, weld symbols, and technical work orders to plan the sequence of assembly;
Securely tack-weld, clamp, grind, or bolt components together to maintain perfect configurations and alignments before final welding;
Utilize overhead cranes, hoists, forklifts, and rigging equipment to safely move, flip, and manipulate large, heavy steel structures throughout the shop;
Conduct precise quality control measurements using templates, straightedges, and fillet gauges to ensure all fit-ups strictly conform to design tolerances
