About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated CNC Machinist to join our new Fort Worth plant. In this role, you will program, set up, support part development, and operate CNC machines to manufacture precision components for equipment used in industries such as defense and aerospace.

  • Set up, develop part and operate CNC lathes and/or mills efficiently, including switching between machines as required to maximize productivity. Wherever possible, set up and operate multiple machines while the primary machine is in cycle to optimize workflow.
  • Ensure all components produced meet specifications using appropriate measuring equipment such as micrometers, Vernier, gauges, and Bore Gauges.
  • Maintain production quality and minimize scrap and rework.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement techniques to improve output, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by performing a variety of duties across machines, shifts, or teams as operational needs require.
  • Work collaboratively to achieve production and quality targets.
  • Operate equipment safely and competently in accordance with Marand's standards, ensuring that good safety and housekeeping are in order.
  • Actively support and participate in the development and onboarding of other employees and apprentices, including sharing knowledge, demonstrating tasks, and providing guidance as required.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and knowledge transfer across the team.
Desired Skills and Experience Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills within an engineering / manufacturing environment accustomed to low volume batch production in either hard or soft metals.
  • Experience programming with Okuma controls.
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to create or develop prototypes.
  • Good computer skills and the ability to solve problems.
  • Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail.
  • An ability to remain focused and "take it up a notch" when working under pressure or to tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of metals and their properties.
  • Physically fit to perform the inherent requirements of the role
