XL Pro Staffing & Consulting is NOW HIRING for Fitter/Welders!
Location: Fort Worth, TX 76140
Pay Rate: $27.81–$34.75 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:45 PM
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Fitter/Welders to fabricate, fit, weld, assemble, service, and repair metal components used in the manufacturing and repair of oilfield and drilling equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong welding and fabrication experience, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and a commitment to maintaining quality and safety standards in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate, fit, and weld metal components used in the manufacturing and repair of oilfield and drilling equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions to determine proper dimensions and assembly requirements.
- Measure, cut, fit, align, and tack-weld steel and other metal components before final welding.
- Perform MIG, Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), and other applicable welding processes according to job requirements.
- Set up and operate welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, and other fabrication tools.
- Inspect welds and finished assemblies for proper fit, alignment, dimensions, and overall quality.
- Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Grind, clean, and prepare metal surfaces before and after welding.
- Follow established welding procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
- Work with production and maintenance teams to meet daily production schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) policies and procedures.
- Assist with the fabrication, assembly, service, and repair of equipment used in the energy industry.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience with proficiency in the welding field.
- Related experience operating welding equipment used in a fabrication department.
- Experience using cutting torches and plasma torches.
- Familiarity with SMAW and GMAW welding processes.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication blueprints.
- Experience with layout and fit-up of weldments and/or inspection of weldments.
- Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other necessary applications.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a production environment and meet daily deadlines.
