Performs visual inspections of welded and brazed joints utilizing visual inspection equipment. Performs job under close supervision.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions- Perform visual inspection of parts by following approved procedures.
- Setup, calibrate, standardize equipment, and conduct tests in accordance with approved procedures.
- Interpret results for acceptance or rejection and document results in accordance with procedures.
- Remain familiar with all codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the visual inspection method. Mark rejectable parts and complete required paperwork for required rework.
- Assists Weld Inspector Specialist with daily activities as needed.
- Maintains knowledge and proficiency in lean concepts and methods, current and future state mapping and value streaming for efficient product flow.
- Maintains appropriate knowledge and ability levels to efficiently performs all assigned work and utilize this knowledge base to become proficient on new/unfamiliar assignments.
- Actively implements lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement; effectively applies lean concepts and tools in work area.
- Maintains work area and equipment in an organized, clean and FOD-free manner.
- Observes all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Maintain high ethical/quality standards in all assigned work.

- Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 0–1-year experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
- (12) twelve months experience in an occupational function with a direct relationship to weldments fabricated to specific code.
- Must be able to pass an annual vision exam in accordance with Parker Procedure 10.9 Maintains certified operator status as required by SPD procedures.
