Position: Bonding Inspector A

Overview

Bonding Inspector A (Job Number: 336042). Inspects bonding processes and bonded parts or parts to be bonded to ensure adherence to blueprints, specifications and bonding standards. Performs visual inspection and uses a wide range of precision measuring instruments, equipment, gauges, jigs, fixtures, templates, etc., to determine acceptability.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect production or first run parts and assemblies made from materials such as plastic, fiberglass, metal, wood, etc., including materials where bonding agents or adhesives are used.
  • Inspect during the bonding process and after bonding; disassemble at bond lines when necessary to determine bond quality.
  • Perform a variety of inspection tests to ensure adherence to specifications; reject items that do not meet standards.
  • Work from blueprints, specifications, or verbal instructions; perform complex layouts and setups to check conformance to standards.
  • Maintain records, graphs, and charts on bonding procedures, tests, and related data.
  • Aid, guide, and assist other inspectors in proper bonding inspection methods and procedures.
  • Operate tools and equipment such as saws, drill presses, shapers, sanders, and pull test machines; perform destructive testing as required.
  • Perform inspections on formed and machined plastic parts, assemblies, and materials for adherence to blueprints, specifications, workmanship, finishes, defects, bonding, and dimensional correctness.
Tools & Equipment Used
  • Saws, drill press, shaper, sanders, inspection hand tools, precision measuring instruments, special testing devices, and material testing equipment.
  • Layout and set-up equipment; use a variety of specialized equipment as required.
Experience & Other Requirements
  • Three years of inspection experience in bonding, fabrication, welding, or finishing, or two years of inspection experience plus one year in Bonding.
  • Must comply with ITAR requirements:
    All applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
