Associate II, Chemical Production Operations

This role is part of Alcon's Manufacturing function, a team that designs, produces and delivers innovative eyecare products to more than 140 countries through operational excellence and efficiency. The Associate II, Chemical Production Operations (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for applying technical expertise to process ingredients and pharmaceutical products or produce contact lenses. You will maintain equipment, follow standard procedures, and engage in process improvements at our ASPEX Manufacturing Facility, in Fort Worth, TX.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Responsible for supporting production goals by applying technical knowledge and following established procedures
• Processing pharmaceutical or contact lens products, maintaining equipment, and ensuring quality through compliance with GMP and GxP standards
• Problem-solving, participating in process improvements, and maintaining accurate documentation
• A strong focus is placed on efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement
• Apply technical knowledge to perform tasks and support project goals effectively
• Follow established procedures with decision‑making authority, requiring job‑related training, attention to detail, and reliability
• Process ingredients and pharmaceutical products or produce contact lenses, including working with saline solutions and mixing compound ingredients for various products such as liquid products, suspensions, ointments, mixes, or blends for tablet granulations and capsule powders
• Ensure high-quality and efficient task completion, impacting project performance and operational efficiency
• Stay current with field advances and take an agile approach to problem‑solving by testing, iterating, and refining solutions
• Perform general maintenance on equipment like pumps, homogenizers, filter presses, and tablet compression machines
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain required records
• Participate in team projects to develop process improvement methods, solutions, and procedures to enhance program quality, cost, and scheduling
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures
• Handle complex tasks and contribute to advanced projects, utilizing expertise and problem‑solving abilities
• Make significant decisions within your project area, influencing project outcomes
• All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training
• Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization
• Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• The ability to read, write, understand, and communicate fluently in English
• 3 Years of Relevant Experience
