Job Summary:

The Executive Director for Marketing & Communications provides strategic leadership for the Neeley School’s marketing, communication, brand, and reputation‑building activities. Working collaboratively with stakeholders within the Neeley School and across the University, the Executive Director develops and executes an integrated marketing and communication strategy that advances the School’s strategic priorities, strengthens its reputation, and engages key internal and external audiences. This role reports directly to the Dean and serves as a member of the Dean’s leadership team.

This role also has a dotted line relationship to the TCU Vice Chancellor for Marketing & Communications.

Duties &

Essential Job Functions:
  • 1. Marketing and Communication Strategy:
    Develops and leads an integrated marketing and communication strategy that advances the strategic priorities of the Neeley School, strengthens its reputation and visibility, and effectively reaches key audiences.
  • 2. Brand Strategy and Management:
    Leads the development, stewardship, and consistent expression of the Neeley School brand and market positioning, ensuring alignment with the broader TCU brand while establishing a distinctive identity for the School.
  • 3. Strategic Communications and Public Relations:
    Oversees external and internal communications, media relations, public relations, executive communications, and issues management. Identifies opportunities to elevate the visibility of the School, its faculty, students, alumni, programs, and accomplishments.
  • 4. Content and Storytelling:
    Leads an integrated content strategy across the School's communications channels, including web, social media, email, publications, video, and other digital and print platforms. Ensures that content effectively communicates the School's priorities, impact, and distinctive strengths.
  • 5. Digital Marketing and Web Presence:
    Provides strategic leadership for the School's digital marketing activities and web presence, working in partnership with appropriate School and University technology resources. Oversees social media strategy, digital campaigns, search and other relevant digital channels.
  • 6. Program and Enrollment Marketing:
    Partners with undergraduate, graduate, executive education, and other program leaders to develop and execute marketing strategies that support enrollment goals and program growth. Provides expertise and coordination in areas including market positioning, audience targeting, campaign strategy, creative execution, and assessment of marketing effectiveness.
  • 7. Marketing Analytics and Performance:
    Establishes appropriate measures of marketing and communications effectiveness and uses data and analytics to evaluate performance, inform resource allocation, and continuously improve the School's marketing activities.
  • 8. School‑wide Marketing Coordination:
    Partners with Advancement, Alumni Relations, Career Services, Centers and Institutes, academic departments, and other School units to ensure consistent messaging, brand alignment, and effective marketing and communications support for priority initiatives.
  • 9. University Coordination:
    Serves as the primary liaison between the Neeley School and TCU's central marketing and communication function, ensuring alignment with University policies, standards, and institutional priorities while representing the distinctive marketing and communications needs of the School.
  • 10. Team, Budget, and Vendor Leadership:
    Leads, develops, and manages the School's marketing and communications team; establishes priorities and effective workflows; manages the unit's budget; and oversees relationships with external agencies, consultants, and vendors.
  • 11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 10 years of related experience.
Preferred

Education & Experience:
  • Master’s degree.
  • Higher education industry experience.
