The Community Outreach Coordinator plays a key role in advancing this mission by supporting the
Community Outreach Director by coordinating volunteer opportunities, strengthening relationships with community partners, and assisting with outreach events. This role also includes hands-on support at the SOS Warehouse, helping facilitate volunteer projects and warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Recruit, schedule, and communicate with volunteers for meaningful service opportunities.
- Coordinate volunteer projects with churches, schools, businesses, and Local Care Partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and volunteers.
- Track volunteer participation, hours, and project information.
- Assist with planning and executing outreach events and special projects.
- Lead and supervise volunteer teams during warehouse service days and community events.
- Support warehouse operations, including inventory, packing, loading, and organizing supplies as needed.
- Create volunteer recruitment content for social media and assist with blogs and/or impact stories.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of relevant experience, OR a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience in volunteer coordination, event planning, community outreach, nonprofit, or church ministry preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Comfortable working in office, community, event, and warehouse environments.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms.
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work in a warehouse environment during volunteer events.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for outreach events.

This is an in-person position located at our offices in Roanoke, TX with occasional driving around DFW.
